Nonostante l’impegno profuso nel progetto e la revisione dello stesso, i ragazzi di OutboundCity si sono visti respingere la versione “Hot” di Action Babes dall’App Store di Apple: le motivazioni ancora poco chiare forse sono da ricercare nella presenza di alcune scene in Topless.

I programmatori di Action Babes non ci stanno, e con una nota diffusa qualche giorno fa (inviata anche a noi di Tecnozoom) informano che hanno preparato ed inviato ad Apple una lettera per avere spiegazione del perché è stata rifiutata la versione “Hot” di Action Babes, prodotto piccante disponibile sia per il nuovo iPhone 3GS che per i precedenti iPhone compreso iPod Touch (ricordiamo che abbiamo due versioni, una liscia se così si può dire ed una considerata Hot, ma in realtà niente che non si veda ogni giorno in TV). Purtroppo come spesso accade questa scelta unilaterale non è stata ben motivata, lasciando intendere una violazione delle regole da parte dei programmatori (difatti non ci sono in vendita film a “luci rosse” ma con la restrizione massima R venivano venduti film come American Pie).
 
Difatti OutboundCity ha preso proprio come esempio le nudità di American Pie per proporre il proprio prodotto (infatti nella striscia che vedete pubblicata anche qui si può notare come ci sia un paragone tra il film e le scene del videogames per iPhone), che ricordiamo che è possibile scaricare film come American Pie. La “rabbia” e frustrazione dei programmatori è convogliata verso una lettera mandata proprio ad Apple in cui si chiedono motivazioni plausibili per lo stop al prodotto. Alla fine troverete la lettera ed in più i trailer in game di “Hot” Action Babes.
 
Ecco la lettera inviata ad Apple:
 
Dear iPhone Developer Program, and dear Apple
thank you for your answers but we need further explanation about your refusal of our application.
 
With the launch of the new iPhone OS 3.0 and the “parental control” in your upload procedure you request a self evaluation of the product and there’s the explicit possibility of marking it with “Sexual Content or Nudity”, “Mature/Suggestive Themes”, and the possibility of a ” Frequent/Intense” label raising the age rating to 17+.
 
What does this self assessment mean?
 
In our app we considered what Apple already sells on the iTunes Store, movies like “American Pie”.
 
We created an app with some silly comedy scenes, with a bit of malice maybe. The most exposed is a topless like in the movies we mentioned, but nothing that can be considered obscene or pornographic as in violation of Section 3.3.14 from the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement.
 
Are there two scales to evaluate apps and movies? isn’t the auto-evaluation confusing for the app producers?
We believe that at this time a lot of developers are wasting time and money since the introduction of the parental controls and this is Apple’s responsibility.
 
Please forgive the tone of this email but you need to see the developer’s point of view for once.
We’d like to have a clear answer on this matter, to share it with other developers and avoid the same situation for them.
 
It’s for this reason that we chose, as a protest, to send our application again with the censored scene covered by black stripes.
